Mt.Nebo FFA Chapter Conquering Area Contest

On the cold morning of January 25, Juab High’s Mt.Nebo FFA chapter loaded onto a Delta destined bus. For months FFA students have been working hard for their chosen events. Some have practiced for contests and others pulled together the requirements for FFA degrees and proficiencies. Students stepped off the bus ready to conquer FFA Area contests.

     Mt. Nebo claimed many victories that day. Drake Nuccitelli and JaLeigh Burton won in Creed speaking. Karissa Taylor won Prepared Public Speaking. Morgan Loveless took 2nd in Employment Skills. Juab’s Parliamentary Procedure team: Trevor Hall, Jacob Davis, Andrew Woodland, Sadie Winn, Staten Shepherd, Claire Bennett, and Livia Topham grabbed first place as well. These students will continue to work to represent at Utah State Contests.

    Five Juab Students earned area proficiency awards. All of them put effort and time into their category and it paid off. Duncan Pay earned his in Sheep production and diversified Ag. proficiency. Bodie Wright earned his in Equine Science placement and Ag. service. Morgan Loveless earned hers in Nursery Operations. Sadie Winn earned hers in Ag.Sales. Gavin Reynolds earned his in Poultry production.

   Five students received star state awards. Duncan Pay earned Star State farmer and agribusiness. Hunter Gurr earned Star State in placement. Jenna Garrett earned star greenhand in production. Staten Shepherd earned Star Greenhand in placement. And lastly, Sadie Winn earned Star Greenhand in agribusiness. 

    13 students earned their FFA State Degree. They are Bailey Sherwood, Bodie Wright, Duncan Pay, Hunter Finlinson, Hunter Gurr, Jackson Hanks, Kabree Smith, Kandace Green, Karissa Taylor, Morgan Loveless, Ryker Watkins, Stockton Garrett, and Gavin Reynolds. Mt. Nebo FFA is doing incredible this 2022-23 school year.
