Juab’s Girl Tennis Sweeps Richfield!

On August 29th, the Juab Girls Tennis Team traveled to face off against Richfield. At the beginning of the matches, the scores were even, with 1-0 and 2-3. However, as the games progressed, the scores became more lopsided, with some matches ending in 6-1 and 6-2. After the varsity finished sweeping the rest of their games, the junior varsity team took to the courts and began to dominate.

Here’s what the players had to say about their matches. From Sufia Khan, “ I enjoyed the challenge and competition they brought; I look forward to facing them again.” Marietta Flake, “It was incredibly rewarding to know, by talking to our opponents afterward, that we were the first team they lost against. Not only did we beat them, but we completely swept them. It is also satisfying to see how much growth the team has experienced within the past few years. Our play has improved so much, our togetherness, and most importantly the positivity we have on and off the court. I’m so proud of all the girls and how much we love each other and our sport.”

As the team manager, I would also say that the girls have improved their game since starting in the summer. We look forward to a great season and winning region! GO WASPS!
