Bored During the Winter Season? Here are Fun Activities to do!

With how much snow we always get every season, it’s important to plan out what fun activities you want to do, keep reading for some fun ideas!

Since we’re down to the last two months of the year, and the snow is expected to come any moment, here are some ideas of what you can do with some free time throughout the season.

Looking at lights is always a safe, yet fun option. While being calming, and having the locations spread out pretty evenly throughout the state, you can never go wrong with going to look at some lights. One of the more known light shows in Utah is the Thanksgiving Point Luminaria light show. This show consists of a mile long walk with all sorts of different, amazing light structures. Some other light shows include the Provo Light Show, as well as the ones in Jordan and Lehi.

Again, since we have so much snow, we’re guaranteed a ton of snow activities. A classic every year is snowboarding or skiing. With all the mountains we’re surrounded by, there’s many resorts and locations to go snowboarding or skiing. Grab a group of friends and head on up to have some fun!

If you prefer something smaller and nearby, you can always go snow tubing. Some of the best places near Nephi would be out west, where you can take the road that heads straight west towards Delta. You can choose any of the great hills surrounding you by pulling off of any of the roads. These hills are great to walk up and ride all the way down.

Lastly, there are plenty of indoor activities if you are someone that enjoys staying warm and cozy. One is ice skating, where there are plenty of locations, such as some up in Provo. One place is the indoor arena called the Peaks Ice Arena, where there are many different times to go skating. All you need to do is look for an open time, show up, then you can rent ice skates, tie them up, and be on your way to the rink.

There are so many fun activities to do during winter, many that aren’t mentioned here. This was just a quick list to get you started. Hope you have an adventurous time getting out in the snow!
