Mt.Nebo FFA Competitions at the Snow College Invitational

An overview of Juab High’s Mt.Nebo FFA competition outcomes from the Snow College Invitational.

Like every year, Juab’s Mt.Nebo FFA chapter continued their competing season by joining the Snow College FFA Invitational. At 7:30 on Tuesday, October 11th all of our competing FFA members piled in the bus. An hour later they arrived at their destination: The Snow College Campus in Ephraim.

The Snow College Invitational holds many of the FFA contests Juab students have been preparing for. Mt.Nebo FFA had students giving their best in the competitions such as, Ag. Mechanics, Agronomy, Floriculture, Horse evaluation, Livestock evaluation, and Vet Science. Here is a look at how some of their teams did.

Ag Mechanics: One of our Ag. Mech teams placed 7th out of 70 teams. Our incredible Juab student, Hunter Gurr came out as the 2nd highest individual.

Agronomy: Our Mt.Nebo Agronomy teams also did well. Mt.Nebo had two of their teams place 5th and 6th.

Livestock Evaluation: Following Agronomy’s path one of Mt.Nebo’s Livestock evaluation team also placed 6th.

Horse Evaluation: Mt.Nebo FFA student Oaklee Payton tied for 3rd highest individual in the horse evaluation competition. Olivia Hunter tied for 9th place.

The next competition for some of our Mt.Nebo FFA members will be on October 24th-29th at the National FFA Convention. FFA Nationals will be the hardest and biggest competition. Please wish them luck.
