Juab Students Excel at FFA State Convention

On March 9th and 10th Utah FFA held the 2023 State Convention at USU in Logan. The Mt. Nebo FFA Chapter sent some of its best students to compete. After hours of competing and running from place to place, Juab High School students returned with experience and wins. 

     The Juab State Degree Recipients were Stockton Garrett, Kandance Green, Hunter Gurr, Jackson Hanks, Morgan Loveless, Duncan Pay, Hunter Finlinson, Gavin Reynolds, Bailey Sherwood, KaBree Smith, Karissa Taylor, Ryker Watkins and Bodie Wright. 

     Students JaLeigh Burton and Rylan Orton were 1st place in Agriscience Social Systems Division 4. Aaron Greenhalgh and Woodrow Smith were 3rd in Agriscience Power Systems Division 4. 

    Mt. Nebo had some great individual performances as well. Drake Nuccitelli won 3rd in creed speaking. Sadie Winn was 3rd runner up for Star Greenhand Agribusiness Award. Duncan Pay placed 3rd runner up in Star State Farmer and Star State Agribusiness. Karissa Taylor competed in prepared public speaking. Morgan Loveless competed in Employment Skills LDE.

    The Mt. Nebo Chapter State Proficiency award winners are Sadie Winn, Bodie Wright, Morgan Loveless, Gavin Reynolds, and Duncan pay.

    The Mt. Nebo’s parliamentary procedure team competed well despite the loss of their coach Garrick Hall. Garrick was honored in the ceremony and American flag pins were given out in his name. 

    Mt. Nebo FFA Chapter has worked hard for the State Convention but they aren’t done yet. The next FFA event will be donkey basketball. Make sure you come and support them, proceeds go to a good cause.
