New Coaching Staff at Juab High
Three New Coaches Coming to Juab!
With the school year wrapping up, there are a lot of changes happening. One way this is happening at Juab High School is by old coaches retiring. Three different head coaches at Juab decided to have their final season this year.
The first coach who retired is Lisa, the old drill team coach. Lisa B. has been a coach at Juab High School for 35 years, making her one of the longest-standing coaches in Utah. Lisa has been a drill team coach for a long time, and she will be missed. The drill team has already had tryouts for next season, but they are still excitedly waiting to find out who their new coach will be.
The volleyball coach also retired this year, but unlike the drill team, Juab High’s volleyball girls know who their coach will be next year. The new volleyball head coach will be Coach Swapp. Coach Swapp is a decorated coach who has coached a variety of sports, including girls’ basketball, softball, boys’ golf, and boys’ tennis. After a team meeting Monday evening in the little theater, the girls’ team was excited for their upcoming season with an amazing new coach.
The final team looking for a new coach is the girls’ basketball team. Although an applicant was already selected, things fell through, and now applications are open again to be the new head coach. Despite not having a coach, the team is still holding open gyms in the mornings in preparation for their upcoming summer tournaments.
Marelli, who is responsible for picking the new coaches for Juab’s sports teams, is excited for next season. He believes that the new coaches will build upon the old program and produce some great athletes in the coming years.
