History of the Clarion
Juab High School was founded in 1899, and twenty-three years later, in 1922, the first-ever Clarion newspaper was published. The Clarion is a newspaper that still lives today. It’s run by an amazing team of students, helped by an amazing teacher. It’s still the best way to keep up with the high school news.
Also, believe it or not, Juab High School had a pool! In 1923, a new high school was built on Main Street. The students were excited to be out of the previous building and instead in a building with a pool, a new gym, a spacious library, and a big auditorium. It didn’t stand for long, however. A History Of Juab County” by Pearl D. Wilson told that on September 8th, 1943, the school was almost completely destroyed by a fire started in the home ec room; the only place that survived was the west wing.
In 1980 the west wing became the city building, and a new high school was built to be what is now the middle school, and finally, in 1999, the current building we now learn in was finally built.
