321Serving up Success: Juab Boys Volleyball First Season

For the first time in Juab High School’s history, we are proud to announce the formation of our very own boys’ volleyball team. This is a significant milestone for both the community and the school. Although it’s their inaugural season, our team is already excelling. Corbin Robinson, a player on the team, shared, “We have a pretty good team for only starting this year.” The team has shown impressive progress and potential, especially considering that many of the players come from different sports backgrounds.

Many of these athletes chose volleyball over the sports they’ve been dedicated to for most of their high school careers. How do you choose to switch from a sport where you’ve invested season after season of hard work and determination to one that is brand new, both for you and your teammates? Volleyball has always been a popular sport in Utah—whether it’s for backyard hangouts or town gatherings—but making the switch still requires commitment. The answer, perhaps, lies in the dedication and effort these athletes have demonstrated. Months of practice, hours of progress, and unwavering dedication have helped these young men rise to fourth place in the state.

Out of a total of 12 games, Juab has won 8 and is currently ranked 4th in the state!

However, Juab’s success wouldn’t be possible without the passion and love these boys have for the sport. Horatio Bassett, a team member, explained, “It’s a fun, safe environment with lots of friends who are always encouraging you. My favorite part is joking around at dinner after the games.”

Not only are they passionate about volleyball, but they are also deeply committed to supporting a cause close to their hearts. The team has rallied together to fundraise for Steel Robinson, a nine-year-old boy fighting Medulloblastoma. On April 24th, they will be holding a fundraiser during their game to support him. Come out to witness the exciting talent these young men bring to the court and show your support for the Robinson family.

With only a few games left in the season, we wish the boys the best of luck on the court. It’s incredible to see how far they’ve come in just one year. We also send our thoughts and prayers to Steel, wishing him a healthy and speedy recovery. Go Juab!
