Tuition v.s intuition; public and private school sports
Public school sports is a sure fire way to support the school. School sports is definitely something to get involved in if you like your school. However, in school sports you might find yourself learning about the struggle with competing against private school. People can come from anywhere to a private school, meaning more people and better players. Where public schools have to take the people in their certain zone. Public schools have limited players and limited talents. In high school 10% of students attend private schools. Out of all the high school athletes colleges recruit, about 45% of them come from private schools. Seeing as private schools don’t even make up a fourth of students, 45% is a lot to be recruited compared to public schools. Private schools also drain funds from public schools; says the AFT (American federation of teachers). This makes it difficult for public schools to get the funding they need for quality practice gear and tools. Overall it’s a heated debate as people argue for Justice for public school sports.
