Juab Students Hang on Until Spring Break
Congratulations, Juab High School students! You are less than a week away from spring break. The cooler weather has had us in short-sleeved shirts and bathing in the sunlight on our trampolines. We were teased with warm weather until second winter decided to slap us across the face with its cold hand. It’s finally warming up to the 60s and even 70s to thaw our frozen hearts. We don’t mean to be dramatic, but seasonal depression is no joke. Once the sun sticks around until 8 o’clock, suddenly we have the will to…live. As the school year creeps to an end, we thank Mother Nature for thawing us and melting the snowy mountains. Utah will forever be in a drought, but it’s the idea that we have a chance at green lawns that makes the wait more memorable.
As the thought of spring break clouds our minds, it’s important to keep up academically. We can’t start daydreaming of tanning and road trips just yet. We need to hold it in until Friday. Until then, enjoy the sun as much as you can at school. Let the seasonal depression melt off along with the snow on the mountains. Feel the rays and watch the trees begin to find their leaves. This time of year, we begin to find our more poetic sides. The cold grasp of winter has held our throats for far too long. Its icy chill is crawling up and down our spines, like a cold finger grazing along, waiting to push out that shiver and tremble. But now, high school students see hope. The faint light peaking from the clouds, similar to a hand, stretched out and held out for hope of the spring season. High school students wait, perhaps not so patiently, for the warm embrace.
You’re almost there, Juab. Hang on just a few more days, and you’ll be able to bathe in the sweet serenity and warmth of spring. The Clarion thanks you for your patience and support and wishes the best for you and all you may have planned for the break!
