A Very Dramatic Region- Juab’s Wins and Losses at Region Drama
Region Drama was March 22nd, and although Juab won no awards, almost everyone made it to state.
The whole team woke up around 5 am, and the bus left at 6:30. With a small stop at Fountain Green, we made it to Manti High School by 7:00.
First rounds for monologues and scenes were at 8, which gave the teams an hour to prepare. There were 3 rounds, each round having a maximum of 25 points to earn. A minimum of 60 points was needed to get to state.
After the first part, we all had a 2-hour break for lunch. Only because we got pushed behind schedule so much. After their pizza break, they went right back to the schedule.
Musical theater and pantomimes were next. That’s where Juab really shined. Junior, Reagan Millet, was 2 points off from a perfect score. People take drama competitions seriously because it’s a competition. Juab went in and just had fun. They still made some great memories from ordering pizza for lunch or stopping at McDonald’s on the way home.
April 11-12th is State Drama, so they can’t wait to go do this all again!
