Tennis ACEing the Win

Every year, the boys tennis team heads down to St. George for a tournament to start off the season with a bang. The weather was a bit windy and dicey this time, but the 60-degree temperatures and a UV of 6 made it better for playing tennis. Along with the tennis team, the baseball and softball teams also made the trip down to St. George, so it was a fun and very busy weekend for Juab sports.

The top 15 players on the boys tennis team competed against schools from all over Utah, showing off their skills in their first matches of the year. Aysen Williams had an amazing tournament, finishing second in the Gold Singles bracket. He played hard and worked even harder while staying focused, earning his silver medal. Patrick Barnes also did well, coming in fourth place in the Silver Singles bracket. His performance showed that he’s ready for bigger challenges for the rest of this season.

While the varsity tennis team competed at Pine View, the JV team went to Hurricane to play their own set of matches. The weekend was full of tennis and lots of aces, but it wasn’t just about the tennis games and the hot tub. The trip was also a wonderful chance for teammates and friends to bond and have fun and get to know each other better this season.

Overall, the trip to St. George had an amazing start to the year. Aysen’s and Patrick’s strong finishes showed that the team is ready to go head-to-head with more tough competition ahead. With the season just beginning, the boys are excited for what’s next, and they’re looking forward to continuing to grow and improve as a team.
