Point System
At the start of the 2024-2025 school year Juab High School started a point system for student attendance. Although it was a quick adjustment it has significantly improved attendance, and made it easier to track a student’s attendance at Juab High School. The primary reason why the point system came into play is because Juab High School staff noticed students were taking advantage of the old attendance system. The point system also removes teacher error, and protects students. There are a variety of opinions on the point system.

For students that are involved in school related activities that have to make point requirements Mr. Jones is the one to help you. Mr. Jones and the student will make a personal plan. Going off the number of points a student has will determine what kind of plan they are doing. Some examples are working on grades before/after school with teachers, service opportunities, powerpoint, and even an essay.
Megan Hills is a junior at Juab High School, and is involved in track & soccer. She states that the point system helps students attend class but is a little excessive. Since the point system started she noticed that she attends school more, and is on time. If Megan could change something about the point system she would make it so students wouldn’t receive points for excused absences.
Braylin ludlow is a freshman at Juab High School, and is involved in FFA. She states that she is not a fan of the point system. Since the point system started she noticed that she has been attending school more often. If Braylin could change something about the point system she would get rid of it all together.
Trey Peterson is a freshman at Juab High School, and is involved in basketball. He states that the point system is helpful but also excessive. Since the point system started he noticed that he attends school more. If Trey could change something with the point system it would be to lower points so tardy, and receive no points for excused absences.
