JHS Presents: Fractured Fairytales

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there was a teacher. This teacher loved drama and decide to put on a play. A play he called The Fractured Fairytales. He called for people from all over Juab High School to attend the auditions on January 27, 2025, in his room, D7.

But what are Fractured Fairytales? The entire play consists of three separate acts with mini skits in each. The storyline is comedic and based on the fairytale characters of our childhood. Each scene has its own cast with its own characters. From Goldilocks and the Three Bears to the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, the show is made to make the audience laugh.

Auditions began immediately after school. Mr. Morgan, along with his assistant directors, Vashti Coray and Maddison Carle, stayed late into the evening, deciding every character. Those who auditioned brought 30-second monologues and had to perform different tongue twisters. The cast list was posted Tuesday, January 28, after school in Mr. Morgan’s room.

The cast has already begun rehersals at the Jr. High auditorium from 3:30 to 6:30 everyday after school. Rehearsals are already full of laughter; in fact, Keira Pettit, who plays Baby Bear, says that “Rehearsals can get a little chaotic, but they are fun overall.”

You can see the Fractured Fairytales at the Jr. High auditorium March 26-29, 2025. Doors will open at 6:15, and it will begin at 7pm. All proceeds will go towards the Drama Department and next year’s fall musical.
