Farewell: Welcome To Reality

As the end of 2024 runs toward us, our thoughts turn to life after graduation. Many Juab senior students find themselves wondering: What’s next? Fortunately, there are several paths available, each path with its own benefits.

One common option is going to college. Earning a degree can open doors to many different career opportunities, and college is more than just going to classes; it’s also a chance to meet new people and gain very useful experiences through internships. These connections can be essential when entering the job market after graduation. Also, college often helps students develop critical thinking skills and a broader understanding of the world. 

Another great choice is vocational training. For people who prefer hands-on work, trade schools offer practical programs in fields like plumbing, electrical work, and culinary arts. These courses usually take less time than a traditional degree and can get you well-paying jobs quickly. The demand for skilled tradespeople continues to grow, making this a smart and logical choice.

Some graduates might opt for a gap year, taking time to travel or gain work experience before diving into further education or careers. This break can be a valuable opportunity to learn about different cultures, volunteer, or just take a breather from academicicale grind. Many people find that this time helps them gain perspective and clarity about their future goals.

For those in the LDS community, serving a mission is a common and meaningful option. This experience helps develop personal and spiritual growth while helping develop leadership skills and cultural awareness. Many return from their missions feeling more prepared and focused on their next steps, equipped with valuable life experiences.

Whether you choose college, vocational training, a gap year, or a mission, each option offers different advantages that can shape your future and you’re going to be.
