Nothing Stops Juab’s Cross Country Team

The XC Team is Staying Active and is Ready for a New Season!

Nothing is going to get in the way of the path of these runners!

Take your marks. Get set… GO!!! The cross country team is so excited for this year’s season. They are determined to do their best and not fold. A couple facts for the students that don’t know anything about XC: every race is about 3 miles, every team has a designated spot for a canopy or just a place to hang out, and each team usually has a manager to track their times every mile or so.

Our cross country team has been all around Utah, such as Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Carbon, Orem, and Spanish Fork, to name a few. The cross country season starts right as school starts, and practice is after school. Although the season officially starts the 1st day of school, they recommend going to their early 5:30 am morning practices in the summer, starting June 8th.

Our JHS runners

  • Seniors: Kenzee Slater, Taija Davis.
  • Juniors: Liesel Kretchmer, Ryker Worwood.
  • Sophomores: Logan Crippen, Colton Hall, Braiden Taylor, Laklyn Kenison, Lillie Balasso.
  • Freshmen: Peter Rosenbeck, Benjamin Hansen.

And we can’t forget the coaches: Cheston Slater, Kori Slater, and Bryant Mackacney.

Cross country is a great way to make friends and do a sport that is straightforward and enjoyable. If you are interested in joining XC next year, talk to Mr. Morelli or Cheston Slater. Cross-country is a great way to stay in shape and meet new people. After races, you may get the chance to have lunch or dinner at a restaurant, such as Five Guys, Zupa’s, or Subway. The team will make you feel welcome, and you can go at your own pace, but you can still challenge yourself. Join Cross Country.
