Around the World for JHS Homecoming Week
In 2024, the student government at Juab High School decided to try something new for homecoming week. They wanted to think outside the box and create a fun, memorable experience for everyone. Each day of the week has a special theme, making it exciting for students to dress up and participate in activities.
On Monday, the theme is “Day in Paris.” Students are encouraged to wear classy “old money” outfits, which means dressing in a more traditional and sophisticated style. After school, there will be a fun activity called “Powderpuff” and “Powderbuff.” While “Powderpuff” is the classic girls’ football game, “Powderbuff” is a brand-new twist where boys compete in volleyball matches. It’s a great way to have some friendly competition and enjoy some laughs.
Tuesday is all about “Day in Mexico.” For this day, students should wear the colors red, green, and white to celebrate Mexican culture. After school, everyone can enjoy a Coco event on the football field, where students can relax, have fun, and enjoy some treats together.
On Wednesday, the theme switches to “Day in Greece.” Students are invited to wear gold and white, reflecting the colors of Greece. The day will end with a lively pep rally, where captains and students can join in on games and cheer for the school.
Thursday’s theme is “Day in Vegas.” Students can show off their bling and fancy outfits. The after-school activity will be a game night in the lunchroom, featuring fun games and a drink bar.
Finally, on Friday, the last day of homecoming week, the theme is “Chinese New Year.” Students should dress in crimson and gold for this celebration. The day will wrap up with the football game against Canyon View, where everyone is encouraged to wear black to support the team.
With each themed day, homecoming week is set to be filled with excitement and school spirit!
