Girls Tennis Serving on the Court
Girls tennis has had a great season so far! Although the team has drastically shortened from the number of girls that graduated last year, they are still dominating in the region. So far, they have played Manti and North Sanpete and have won both times overall. They have also already attended the St. George invitational and demonstrated their exceptional skills. Even though they were going against 4A and 5A schools, they played amazing. Nataya Day, Lily Fechner, Abby Gurara, and Keira Pettit all placed while they were there. However, all of the girls played really well and deserve to be congratulated. For the past couple of years, private schools have been dominating the region tournament, but this year, things will be different. This year the girls are excited that private schools like Rowland Hall won’t be able to participate this year in a new tournament that only consists of public schools. This year, the coaches are Andy Williams and Bret Lovell. They are really excited about this group of girls and know that they can go far if they put in the effort. If you see any of the tennis girls, congratulate them and wish them luck for the rest of their season.
