Coming off a successful weekend tournament, our Lady Wasps prepared to face off against the Manti Templars. As the first region game, tensions were high for the Wasps. Sickness plagued the team, forcing the Wasps into a slow start for the first two sets. In the third set, the wasps found their stride and beat the Templars 26-24, forcing another set. Going into the fourth set, the game was neck and neck. In the end, the Templars pulled away with a score of 20-25. Despite the loss, our wasps played hard and are sure to come back the next time we face the templars.

Tuesday’s theme for the game was “Hunting for a Win!” The theme was a smash hit. Everyone in the pit was decked out in camo to show support for our lady Wasps, which had to be an intimidating sight for the visiting Templars. Because of the Pit’s outstanding attendance for all home games this season, the SBO’s had a tough call for “Fan of the Game.” In the end, Noah Steele made his presence at the game known by cheering the loudest and winning fan of the game!

In between sets, the SBOs called up fifteen volunteers for a game. The goal of the game was to serve the ball over the net and hit one of the pizza boxes scattered across the court to win what was inside. Inside the pizza boxes were gift cards from our local businesses. After an unsuccessful first bout, the serves started to find their mark, and the prizes went quick.

The Wasps are staying busy and have three home games in a row lined up, facing off against Parowan, Delta, and then Emery. Be sure to come dressed up to the next game to show your support for girls volleyball this season!
