Juab’s Girls Basketball Team Smacks Down Summit Academy Bears

On January 3rd, the Summit Academy Bears faced off with the Juab Wasps on Juab High’s home court for a basketball game.

       The Juab Provita presented the flag and both teams united for the National Anthem. Then, everyone cheered as the players were introduced. Period 1 started with Juab flying ahead with a strong lead, earning 7 points before Summit Academy could score one.

      Juab students got hyped dressing up in camouflage with their friends for the hunt the bear theme. And the Wasps really did shoot down Bears. By the end of the 2nd period the wasps were still ahead with 12 points.

       During half time, the JHS provita gave a beautifully crafted performance to Unconditionally. That was followed by Juab’s cheer performing their routine to “Whoop! There it is.” Then there was a small break before 3rd period kicked off.

       The Bears didn’t go down without a fight. They clawed their way up the scoreboard. But the Wasps only flew higher. As Juab made it to 40 points Summit Academy retaliated with a three pointer. Unfortunately for Summit Academy that was followed by Juab’s student pit going wild as the first Bear fouled out. 

      The Wasps only gained. As the teams called for time out, the pit took the chance to shout Juab’s I believe we will win chant. With two seconds on the clock, Summit got themselves a free throw. But it was in vain. Juab still won the game by 13 points.
