Things To Do In Summer

Written by Christian Dye

Summer is fast approaching and for many people that means a lot of free time. We need
things to fill our time with, so here are a few ideas for things to do during the long summer
months.

First you can hike Nebo. The Nebo hike is a beautiful hike starting in shade and covered by
the trees. It goes up to a nice lookout about the third of the way up the trail. From there you trade
shade for a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. All the way up at the top you can see
for miles and miles around, looking down on Mona from a birds eye view.

Second, you can take a trip to Burraston’s Pond. At Burraston’s there is a lot to do. First, you can obviously swim. A
few of the trees have rope swings which are a lot of fun! You can also bring a canoe and just
float around or if you have multiple canoes and some friends you can race or play canoe tag.

If physical activities aren’t your cup of tea, Juab still has things for you to do. You can drive the
Nebo loop. It’s a beautiful drive going from Nephi and coming out in Payson. The drive is a
curving road going through gorgeous scenery through trees and mountains. The summer is
good, but during the autumn when the trees turn golden, orange, and red it’s like driving through
a painting.

If you’re more of a competitive person there’s always sports, specifically Pickleball.
Pickleball is a new fad that is growing in popularity. It’s a fun game that can be played at any
tennis court. Grab a few friends and you won’t regret it, it’s become crazy popular for a reason!
