Central Utah Regional Art Show
Snow College hosted the Central Utah Regional Art Show with secondary schools from Juab, Millard, Piute, North Sanpete, South Sanpete, Sevier, Tintic, and Wayne school districts, and Wasatch Academy. At the Awards ceremony on May 14th at the Snow College Art Gallery Erica Murdock was recognized with an honorable mention and a check for $50.00 for her watercolor and origami piece entitled Thoughts of Wonder.Erica stated,“It was an awesome surprise! I’m truly proud of my progress over the last few years. I can’t wait to continue to grow my painting skills!” Erica is a junior at JHS and daughter of Nate and Angelena Murdock.
Taking home the Best of Show Award, a $500.00 check, and a Summer Snow Scholarship worth $525.00 for her watercolor entitled The Phoenix Queen, Tessa Astle did herself and Juab proud. She exclaimed, “I was not expecting to win anything- especially Best of Show! I honestly was in shock. I am so happy and honored. I am thankful I had the opportunity to enter the contest. I’m so grateful to Snow College for sponsoring the exhibition I’m still in happy shock that I won.” There were nearly 170 entries in the Central Utah Regional Show, so to win in a show that represented the best of the best from each school is an amazing accomplishment! Tessa is a sophomore at JHS and daughter of Aaron and Hilary Astle.
