What is the FBLA?

FBLA? What’s that? Here is a closer look at our school’s FBLA club.

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. From the name you can probably guess that it’s a business club. Well, you are correct, but it’s much more than that. The FBLA club travels to competitions and competes against other high schoolers. Members of FBLA also get to learn about how to be good business leaders by attending workshops.

Being a part of this club also means you get to travel and attend overnight competitions, which are known to be one of the most fun things about being in FBLA. For the state competition, anyone who places at least fourth place gets to advance to nationals. According to Janell Bowles, “The national competition is in a different place every summer.  Since I have been teaching at Juab, FBLA students have attended the national competition in Atlanta, Baltimore, and San Antonio.  If the pandemic were gone, our students this year would have the chance to compete at nationals in Disneyland.”

Although getting the chance to travel and compete is one benefit of FBLA, there are many others. One big benefit for members of the FBLA club is being able to put it on resumes, and college and scholarship applications. However, the best part of being in FBLA is getting to be involved.

Anyone can be a part of FBLA, so join today and you’ll get to be a part of the fun.
