How Early is too Early to Celebrate Christmas?

Merry Christmas? Stores have been putting up Christmas decorations earlier and earlier each year, but how early is too early to start the holiday season?

This is a question a lot of people ponder once the end of the year approaches. Some people think that the second after Halloween ends your tree should be up and Christmas music should be blasting from your house. Others think December is the one and only designated time for Santa to invade our homes with songs and decorations.

Everyone believes in different times to start celebrating and there technically is no wrong time, but there are different stages.

The first stage being Christmas shopping. With online shopping and sales on perfect gifts, this happens all throughout the year for many, although some people wait until the last second to rush and find the perfect presents.

The second is decorating, the earliest Christmas decor should go up is the first day of November. Once Halloween ends, the holiday season begins.

The third stage is music. Listening to Christmas music starts either while decorating, mid-November, or whenever radio stations decide to start playing it. However, it’s totally fine to occasionally listen to your favorite Christmas song anytime throughout the year.

The fourth and final stage is full blown Christmas, which obviously starts December 1st. Start handing out gifts and getting in the holiday spirit. It’s the one time of year that you can cozy up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a Christmas movie.

Whenever you decide to start celebrating Christmas, just remember to enjoy it while it lasts because it only comes once a year. If that means turning up the Christmas music and setting up your tree much before the holiday season, go for it.
