Meet Our New Music Teacher
Ryan Draper
Alicen Allred is originally from Provo and came from a music-loving family. Her mom is a music teacher, singer, pianist, and organist. Her dad is a composer, harpist, and former member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She has four siblings, all of whom are excellent singers and musicians. She knows how to play many instruments, including piano, violin, organ, guitar, ukulele, and cello.
Alicen Allred attended Timpview High School during her freshman year. Then she spent the next three years in Mountain View High School, where she graduated. She decided to attend Brigham Young University, to be a student in the outstanding Music Dance Theatre program there and to become a member of the world-famous BYU Young Ambassadors. She graduated from BYU with a degree in Music Dance Theatre and later went to school at Utah Valley University, because of the reputation they have for preparing quality educators. At UVU she received a degree in music education and continued developing her music abilities.
Alicen taught in a private studio for over 25 years, and did student teaching and substitute teaching at Mt. Nebo Junior High in Payson. Last year, she taught choir and orchestra at Juab Junior High. Now she is here at Juab High School and is excited to be a part of the Juab High School experience.
