Girl’s Tennis
Rebecca Marchant
Here at Juab High school we have many sports, one of our newer ones is Tennis. During the Fall the Girls tennis season is started; once school is in, the games begin! Tennis is a really fun sport. It is good for people who like a more quiet and relaxed sport because the people watching are not supposed to cheer until one of the teams gets the point.
This years team has 21 girls – Averee Hatfield, Bailee Morrill, Breanne Gardiner, Brooke Richens, Emma Gardner, Emmalee Willmore, Emmy Fechner, Rebecca Marchant, Gracie Fechner Evelyn Roundly, Grace Holman, Hannah Echols, Hannah Wall, Harley Berger, Julia Flake, Leah Thorne, Lily Parkin, Madison Leonard, Nikki Matheson, Quenna Yuan, Savannah Hanks. They are all so talented and are such amazing girls.
The varsity’s top players are Emmalee Willmore for first singles, Gracie Fetchnern is second, Hannah Echols third. Doubles are Julia Flake and Harley Berger for first, then Savannah Hanks and Hannah Wall for second. Since 14 of the girls graduated last year, the team is a lot younger. Considering most of them are new to this sport they are doing pretty good.
Make sure to come to support them at their remaining games – there is an away game September 17 in Manti at 3:30, and the JV tournament in Manti on September 18. Their season is ending soon, if they make it to state it will be ending on October third. We hope they do well!
